Hi guys, on august i will be in London and i was thinking on buying some bento boxes there 'cause in Italy it's impossible to find 'em! i just know about bentos 'cause i was looking for some japanese recipes and i've discovered the magical world of bentos...i really like those bento boxes with Keroppy and generally those ones with anime characters, so i was wondering when i will be in London where are the right shops to go?

You have to really hunt for bento goodies in the UK too....as you can probably gather from the general lack of response .

You tend to have to buy from overseas websites.....or make a trip to Japan. Very Happy

I went to the Japan Center yesterday and they had bento boxes - only a small selection but very nice.

I got a Blue balloon one (same as this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HAPPY-BALLO...Z1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem
without the strap)

The Japan center has a website but the bento boxes are only available in store http://www.japancentre.com

That looks like a Daiso one - interesting to hear they're finally stocking bento boxes. The website has been saying 'Daiso coming soon' for a while now, I don't know when they plan to implement it!

Went back today and they only had a few left - but they had some foil cupcake cases in 2 sizes one pack had 162 the other 180 not bad for £1.45 each.

Also some small bottles for soy - nice (I got some piggies).

Anyway i'm planning to go to London just would like to know the best shops to look for japanese stuff. I'm interested in japanese houseware, bentos, food and cooking books. I know for sure that Japan Centre is a cool place to go, but what about the other ones? Can you suggest me the best places to go in?I would also like to know if there is a place where i can buy some bento meals...they look so cool and yummy   Very Happy !

I've had a few fairly major personal events since I started this site, but I am aiming to get on top of updating and revamping stuff soon!

Other than the Japan Centre, I don't know of any other places that sell bento boxes in London. There are places that sell premade takeaway bentos, but you'd have to research that because I'm not sure which are the best ones (although the Japan Centre does little bento lunches to take away too). There is a chain called Wasabi that does takeaway sushi and onigiri - but I'm not very impressed by their hot food selection.

Hopefully if anyone else finds somewhere that sells bentos in the UK, they'll let me know!
